River Ross, Journey to Adoption

One couple's desire to start a family took patience and passports.
Three years into their marriage, Kallie and Lance McFall decided it was time to start a family.

As soon as they started their process of searching for a child, they were met with many obstacles. The first baby they were interested in was from Russia and in 2012 Vladimir Putin signed into law that US adoptions from Russia would no longer be allowed. The couple pursued three different girls without the success of adoption.

Not giving up, the McFalls traveled to Ukraine in pursuit of another child. After an 18 month journey and a month living abroad, they were finally able to bring home a child they could now call their own.

River Ross McFall is 16 months old and has called America home for 3 months.
