"Son of God" Movie Hits Abilene Theaters

The movie "Son of God" attracted two sold out shows full of people to an Abilene theater.
There was a line out to the door of moviegoers waiting to see the much anticipated movie depicting the life of Jesus Christ. The film "Son of God" was released on Friday and was shown four times at the Premiere Cinema inside the Mall of Abilene. Both the 6:00p.m. showing and the 9:00p.m. were completely sold out.

Many that did get to see the movie were very impressed with it. Jerry Cox, Pastor of Ranchouse Fellowship Cowboy Church, brought a group of twenty from his church to see the film. He explained that he believes that those who know the story of Jesus' life and those who are not familiar with it will enjoy the movie.

Marty Martinez waited in line to see the movie at 9:00 and explained that he has been watching interviews about the movie and has been waiting to see it.

Scot Williams saw the movie at 6:00 and explained that he brought his family with him so that they could all experience the Hollywood version of what they believe.

The movie is rated PG-13 and many families were in attendance Friday night.

The movie was shown in a theater that seated 121 people, however on Saturday, the film will be shown in a theater that accommodates nearly 100 more moviegoers per showing.
