For the first time in over two decades there will be a new voice coming from the dugout at Stamford baseball games. That's after longtime head coach Lannie Templeton announced his retirement on Monday.

Just two days before, the Bulldogs had their season come to an end in the regional finals against district rival. That would prove to be the final game in the career of Stamford's most successful baseball coach.

During his 22 years at the helm in Stamford, Templeton led the Bulldogs to over 300 wins. Not to mention four straight trips to the state tournament in round rock in 2010 and 2013.

The Bulldogs were unable to bring home a state title, though, in those four appearances, and finished as the state runner-up twice.
