Abilene police have captured 26-year-old Martin G. Estrada who had hidden himself in a mobile home late Tuesday morning after a brief foot chase.

The following details are from the Abilene Police Department:

Late this morning APD officers joined City Marshals in the search for a known wanted suspect, 27-year-old Martin G. Estrada. Information received led these officers to a trailer home located in the 100 block of S. Pioneer. Entry to this home was granted. In their attempt to locate Estrada inside the trailer, Estrada eluded officers by exiting a very small window and Estrada then quickly fled on foot. Officers began a foot chase in their search for Estrada, but their attempts to catch up and locate Estrada were unsuccessful. Later this afternoon at about 2:30 pm, APD officers responded to the same mobile home park after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip about Estrada’s whereabouts, but this time at a different trailer home. APD officers alerted City Marshals about this new information and the Marshal’s responded to assist. Officers were permitted entry to this trailer home and they located Estrada hiding inside of a bathroom.

Estrada was arrested without further incident. He was magistrated and then taken to Taylor County jail where he was booked for his Forgery warrant (Surety Withdrawal) and for the new charge of felony Evading (charged enhanced based on previous evading convictions).

The Forgery warrant carried a bond of $5,000 and the Evading charge carried a bond of $10,000.
