A fire in Sweetwater destroyed two homes early Sunday morning.
A fire in Sweetwater destroyed two homes early Sunday morning.

The fire started in Sam Houston Street around 2 a.m. The houses were fully involved by the time the calls came in. According to the Sweetwater fire chief, a house next to an open field caught on fire due to an electrical issue.

The strong winds from this morning spread the fire to two other homes. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it badly damaged the third home.

No one was injured. All three engines, the ladder and ten firefighters were on scene fighting the blaze.
