A public meeting Tuesday night allowed locals to voice their opinions on changes planned for SH351. TxDOT presented two possible plans, saying that they're planning on completing those changes once funding is available. Both plans would cost about $2.5 million. TxDOT told those in attendance that they may use one plan, or combine both to create a different plan.

Those plans are to renovate SH 351 to fix issues with access ramps, traffic flow and safety.

Both plans would cost about $2.5 million. One plan is to combine the driveways along the area. The other being similar to what's in place now. Both plans would add medians in the roads, sidewalks and bike lanes. TxDOT told those in attendance that they may use one plan, or combine both to create a different plan.

Locals who live on the highway and nearby came to voice their opinions and concerns, and were able to discuss with TxDOT what they want to see and what they like about each individual plan. Many say they're happy to see changes being planned, and that the plans are much needed.

Funding is not yet available, and no start date has been set. TxDOT estimates that the construction would take about a year, once started.
