Upcoming Abilene Women’s Health Focus Group

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District in collaboration with the Abilene Christian University School of Social Work will be conducting women’s health focus groups on Saturday July 19th at Gethsemane Spanish Assembly of God Church – 2001 Park Ave, Abilene TX.
The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District in collaboration with the Abilene Christian University School of Social Work will be conducting women’s health focus groups on Saturday July 19th at Gethsemane Spanish Assembly of God Church – 2001 Park Ave, Abilene TX.

The purpose of this community focus group is to gather qualitative and anecdotal data concerning health service access, utilization and medical care adherence within the uninsured female population in Abilene.

Participants must be female, 18 years of age and older and uninsured. There will be a total of four focus groups stratified by age.
  • 9 – 11 a.m. Spanish speaking women, age 55 and older
  • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Spanish speaking women, age 18-35
  • 1 – 3 p.m. English speaking women of all ages
  • 3 – 5 p.m. Spanish speaking women age, 36-55
Discussion groups will last between 60-90 minutes. Refreshments will be served and child care will be available. In addition, participants in each focus group will have the opportunity to win a $25 gift card to H-E-B grocery store. To confirm, participants must call the Abilene-Taylor County Health District- Sears Clinic at 325-676-6634; provide their name, age, preferred time and phone number.

Results will be analyzed, summarized and made available to the public in the fall.
