On Thursday, July 10, the Abilene City Council decided to schedule a public hearing regarding the controversial proposal of adding e-cigarettes to the city’s smoking ordinance.

This means on Thursday, July 24, citizens of Abilene will be able to express their opinion before the council on whether electronic cigarettes should be banned from public places such as restaurants and bars in the same way regular cigarettes are.

In other words, anywhere where smoking is currently banned, the use of e-cigarettes will be banned as well.
