Pitcher Mac Mueller got the Bulldogs going in the top of the first by sitting down the Loboes with three straight strikeouts. Then Mueller would get Wylie's offense going with a two-out base hit down the right field line.
The Bulldogs would jump out to a 1-0 lead on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch. Then a short time later Jason Frederick would bring home two more runs with a base knock into right field. That would put Wylie up 3-0 before Monahans even got their first base runner on board.
The Loboes would threaten in the second inning, but another Mueller strike-out would get the Bulldogs out of the jam. By the end of the day Mueller would rack up a total of ten strikeouts.
Then in the bottom half of the second, the offense would once again pick up where they left off in the first. An RBI double by Lane Bourland would add to the Bulldogs advantage and make it 4-0 heading to the third inning.
Wylie would run out to a 10-0 lead, but Monahans would score four in the fourth inning to avoid being "run-ruled."
It wouldn't be enough though, as Wylie would go on to win by the count of 14-4. The Bulldogs improved to 5-1, and will travel to Greenwood on Friday for a match-up with the Rangers.
