"It just kinda reassures you that the community you come from is there for everyone, they wanna help in anyway that they can," he said about the number of students who turned out for a Zumba class to raise money.
"We're trying to raise money for people around anson that need help with paying medical bills and have medical problems," said Jalen Garza.
Lisa Ramos teaches Spanish at Anson High, she felt maybe it was time to step out of the box when it came to traditional fundraising, and said they decided to try a Zumba class.
"Everyone's having fundraisers and it's really hard for us to do another fundraiser so we thought hey, why not do Zumba?" Ramos said.
They decided on a 45-minute Zumba workout, with instructor Jason Hernandez each person interested paid five dollars to participate in the class.
Teacher and students were welcome.
"It was announced over the intercom and pretty much all of the students participated in it," said Jaci Tischler.
All the students spend their lunch period dancing away to the sounds of various Zumba anthems, they had a good time and look forward to another Zumbathon very soon.
