ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry University women’s soccer team had no answer for Dallas Baptist University, and fell 8-1 Saturday night at Wilford Moore Stadium.

The War Hawks struggled to contain the Patriots offense and allowed 24 shots on goal – 12 in each half.

At the 20-minute mark of the first half, Rebecca Kernen scored on a line drive from 30 yards out and Ashley Cox pushed across a goal at the 44-minute mark, and DBU (4-3, 1-0 Heartland Conference) led 2-0 at halftime.

The Patriots added six second-half goals to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore Holiday Williams (Bedford, Texas/ LD Bell HS) scored at the 88-minute mark to put McM on the board.

The War Hawks (3-4, 0-1 Heartland) play host to Oklahoma Christian University Monday afternoon at Wilford Moore Stadium.
