A man is dead and his wife injured after a shooting this morning in a home at Texas State Technical College campus family housing in Waco.

It's believed to be an attempted murder-suicide, according to KWTX, KTAB's sister station in Waco.

The woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds and underwent emergency surgery.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A next-door neighbor told KWTX he heard four gunshots Friday morning; three in succession followed by a fourth just moments later.

A text message alerted the TSTC Waco community of the shooting.  According to KWTX, the text read,

“This morning TSTC Waco Police Department received a call of a shooting in the college's campus family housing. Police are investigating an attempted murder and suicide. The college administration would like all students, faculty and staff to know that there is no danger."
