The ACU Wildcats officially started their new trip into NCAA Division I F-C-S football this afternoon.

The Wildcats are moving up from NCAA Division II, and while the level of football is different, the approach is the same as far as Wildcats head coach Ken Collums is concerned.

It's still about players, execution, and commitment.

Collums said, "Regardless of what level you are playing at, you going to go out and practice well and be sharp and have a plan and be well prepared to do that. We will do the same thing regarding practice and how we approach it. It's football with helmets only, so it's not real football, so we'll go out there, and it'll be an alignment, and assignment, and tempo."

The Wildcats open on August 31st against Concordia College out of Alabama. John David Baker will be the starting quarterback for ACU this year.
