Earlier in the season, the Indians rallied to beat the Dragons at Jim Ned. On Saturday there would be no such comeback for Jim Ned.
Bangs got on the board in the first inning thanks to a triple by J.T. Newton and sacrifice fly by Aaron Keller. That gave the Dragons a 1-0 advantage.
Jim Ned pitcher Will Doty would settle in during the second inning, and combined with some good defense, keep the Dragons off the board.
Then in the third inning, Newton would once again take a ball to deep left field. This time it would not come back. That solo homerun gave Bangs a 2-0 lead.
That would prove to be enough on Saturday as the Dragons held on for a 3-1 victory.
They moved to 10-1 in the district and now hold the top spot. Jim Ned is now 9-2 and locked in a tie with the Wall Hawks at second.
