Eagles Continue To Improve

Losing is never the goal when you take the field, but coach Warren feels like he is seeing improvement from his guys. They just have to eliminate the mental mistakes.
Head coach Steve Warren and his Eagles are still on the hunt for their 1st win in district play.

Abilene High lost to Duncanville on Friday night 50 to 20 to fall to 0-2 for the 1st time since 2006.

Losing is never the goal when you take the field, but coach Warren feels like he is seeing improvement from his guys.

They just have to eliminate the mental mistakes.

Coach Warren said, "You take away 5 plays from that game, and it's a tie ball game going into the 4th quarter. You can't turn the ball over to good football teams. They'll make you pay, and they did, 35 points worth. The one area that I was really happy with was over 180 yards rushing. We got our running game going. That's certainly going to bode well moving forward."

The Eagles start play in District 2-5A this week. They are at home to take on Amarillo Tascosa. Abilene High beat the Rebels last year to start district 49-7. That game starts at 7:30.
