Head coach Steve Warren's Abilene High Eagles played their best game of the season, but came up 2 points short in their bid to hand district leader Midland Lee their 1st loss in District 2-5A play.
Head coach Steve Warren's Abilene High Eagles played their best game of the season, but came up 2 points short in their bid to hand district leader Midland Lee their 1st loss in District 2-5A play.

It's a tough one to get over. However, coach Warren says his guys are looking forward, not back.

"We've got to move forward. Anything that we did last week, the negative part, is going to have any bearing on this week unless you allow it to. We're still in the playoff picture. We've got to do some thing better, and it starts this Thursday night. It's a quick turnaround. So, we've got to take the things we did well and accentuate those and move forward in a quick way," said head coach Steve Warren.

The Eagles will also have a quick turn around this week as they have just three days to prepare for Lubbock Coronado.

"You've got to get four days of work in to three days. So, practices are a little longer, and film sessions are a little longer. This time of year you have a pretty solid game plan with things you've been doing all year. So, we should be ready to go."

Abilene High goes on the road for the 1st time this month on Thursday night. They travel up to Lubbock to take on Coronado at 7 p.m.
