Last year, they went into district with no wins and 4 losses.
This year with new head coach Kent Hawthorne leading the way, the Horns are 2 and 2.
Those non-district games don't mean anything in the long run, but mentally, those 2 wins mean the world.
Jake Fisher said, "The main reason about preseason is just getting a role going into district, and I think winning, like last year we didn't have any wins in predistrict, and I think this time we actually get to end it with a win at Ballinger, so that just really going to get us excited and ready to beat Ingram Moore."
Coach Hawthorne said, "You want to start off with that 1st district win right off, with out a doubt. We are kind of lucky in a way and unlucky in another way. 1 of the 3 teams that we have to beat that are on our schedule we play them at their place and that makes it tough."
The district opener is tough for the 'Horns, too. They take on Ingram Moore in Early. They kick it at 7:30.
