For the second straight day the Eastland Mavericks faltered late against the Wall Hawks.

On Saturday it was Wall that jumped out to an early lead. After scoring in both the first and second innings, the Hawks padded their advantage in the third inning by putting three runs on the board.

At that time the Hawks would lead 5-0 over the Mavericks.

In the bottom half of the third Eastland would respond. Clay Brewer would bounce one back to the pitcher, but it would be enough for Gerardo Martinez to touch home plate.

By the end of the inning the Mavericks would cut the Wall lead down to just one.

Then in the bottom of the fourth inning, Jeremy Pinley would ground one to the short-stop. After getting the out at second base, the Hawks could not get Alex Ojeda at third base. He would then find his way to home plate and tie the game at 5-5.

Wall would go on to put three unanswered runs on the board and pick up a 8-5 victory, and eliminate Eastland from the postseason.
