There's more on the line than just the undefeated regular season. The teams will be playing for the district title, but the Mavericks say the key will be to treat it like just another game.
Coach Brian Hulett said, "Another game. You know we start that way back in August whenever we started. Just take it one game at a time, and when you get there if it's for something that's what you want, but we're playing Clyde, we're not playing the district or anybody else. We're playing Clyde to try and win Friday night."
Josh Moylan said, "It's a huge game. It's for the district championship, but at the same time we can't let the moment get to big for us, and we got to prepare like it's for every other game, but this is a huge game."
Hulett said, "We love playing at home. We love playing in front of our home crowd. It's a great atmosphere, they've got a great place. Just a super environment to play, but at the end you still have to play the opponent and beat the opponent. So, we know Clyde is a very talented football team, playing well, coming off a bye week. Rested, fresh, healthy, ready to go, so we got to be on top of our game, and just do our best."
Both teams are undefeated in district play as the clash Friday night with the district title on the line.
