A quick start helped propel the Haskell Maidens to a victory over Westbrook on Saturday evening that moved them into the regional semifinals.

In the first inning the Maidens had runners on second and third when Megan Gonzalez launched one to center-field. Westbrook's Madison Anderson made a leaping grab that would keep the runners at bay. It also helped limit the Maidens to just one run in the first inning.

Both teams would stay off the baord in the second inning, and then in Haskell pitcher Madison Homeyer would end the top of the third with a strike-out.

Then in the bottom half of the third inning, Gonzalez would send another ball to deep center-field, but this time Anderson wouldn't make the catch.

That would drive home another run for the Maidens, and give them a 3-0 lead.

Haskell would hold on from there, and pick up a 3-0 victory over Westbrook in route to the regional semifinals.
