A fast start on Saturday afternoon would be enough to push the Hawley Lady Bearcats to the regional quarterfinals.

On Friday night the Lady Bearcats split a double-header with Lamesa in Snyder. That meant a winner-take-all game three on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Bearcats wasted little time getting to work in Snyder. A shot by Megan Verette in the first inning would drive home one of Hawley's five runs.

Lamesa would load the bases in the bottom half of the first, but pitcher Jordan Anderson was able to get out of the one-out-jam with a strike out and a pop up.

Hawley would again pour on the runs in the second inning, and the rout was on from there. Hawley would go on to win by the final score of 11-0 and will take on Comanche for a chance to go to the State Tournament.
