Robert asks, "Is Big Spring part of what's known as the Big Country? I grew up in Big Spring."

Robert, I did some study and the answer is probably no. The "Big Country" is generally considered to be a 19 county trade area surrounding Abilene. The eastern-most counties are Scurry and Mitchell. Big Spring falls outside that area.

On the website, MyBigSpring.com, they consider themselves on the northern end of the Edwards Plateau and the southern hills of the Caprock. Once again, both of those areas are west of the region we call "the Big Country."
