Week five of the High School football season is upon us and it brings with it, several intriguing Match-ups in the Big Country.

The first Match-up pits Hugh Sandifer's Wylie Bulldogs against the Matadors of Lubbock Estacado.Wylie enters the contest at 2-3 on the season but they are 2-0 away from Bulldog Stadium in 2011. Wylie and Estacado are meeting for the 4th time in four years with Wylie winning the first three meetings. Wylie will have to slow down an Estacado back field that includes standout sophomore running back Robert Johnson who has 67 carries for 725 yards and Seven TDs. The Bulldogs will have to continue to force turnovers as they have done all season as they come into the game having forced 12 interceptions and six fumbles. This game kicks off from Lowery Field in Lubbock at 7:30 tonight.

Our next Match-up takes us to Eastland where the Mavericks will host the number one team in 2-A division 1 Godley. The Mavericks are only allowing One touchdown to teams in the first half this season, in addition to outscoring their opponents by and average of 47-8. But After playing a schedule of teams with a combined 6-18 record Eastland will get a tough test this evening and really show everyone what they have to offer.

A few miles west on I-20 The number Seven Cisco Lobos square off against fellow unbeaten Hico for a leg up in district 4-2A. Cisco is averaging 35 points a game with most of the damage coming on the ground averaging over 330 yards a game rushing. But the Lobo Defense will have their hands full with a Hico team that is averaging 44 points a game.

Our last match-up has Coahoma visiting Hawley. The Bearcats have been a surprise team so far this season they currently sit at 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in their district. They could take another step towards the playoffs in a tough district with a win tonight against Coahoma. Hawley has been winning their games by a wide margin averaging 41.6 points a game while only giving up 11.
