Gardens are a great source of fruits and vegetables, but for one church in Abilene it’s also a great sense of community. For the past several months those at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Abilene have been weeding, watering, and working in their new garden. People around the community are encouraged to not only help with the garden but to also come and pick the delicious fruits and vegetables. The garden includes anything from okra, to peppers, and watermelon. They have a workday the second Saturday of each month from about 9am till noon, volunteers are much appreciated.
