Going Green: Maintaining Your Fountains During The Winter Months

How To Protect Your Fountains When It Gets Cold
During the winter months some things handle the cold better than others. Fountains made of concrete or resin can crack if left out in the cold for a long period of time. If you know there is going to be a hard freeze simply turn the water off and let the fountain drain. Most fountains should come with a drain and plug. Fountains with multiple tiers can be a little bit trickier. Pouring anti-freeze in your fountain will only make the problem worse. For birdbaths simply turn them over during the winter months.
