Flowers and other plants depend on water to survive. According to florist Ray Maddox, one of the most common mistakes people make is over watering. Each plant requires a different amount of water each day or week. Maddox specializes in indoor plants but is no stranger to outdoor plants too. In general, small flowers require about two cups of water every six to eight days. Hanging plants need to be watered more frequently. If your plant begins to wilt, bugs may also be a problem; water is not always the main cause. Meters can be a good tool when it comes to watering your plants.
