The Stamford Bulldogs defeated the Anson Tigers in front of a packed crowd on Friday evening in Anson.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Tigers were able to get on the board, and cut the Stamford lead to 3-1.

Matt Villanueva got off to a good start in the top of the fourth inning by picking up a strike-out. Then the Bulldog bats came to life.

Hagen Hutchinson legged out a grounder to the short stop with two outs to drive home Bo Wimberly and keep the inning alive. That made the score 4-1 with Kyle Barnett coming to the plate.

With the bases loaded, Barnett sent one over the right field fence for a grand slam.

Stamford took a 8-1 lead at that point, and never looked back as they picked up a 11-1 victory.

The Bulldogs also took possession of the top spot in the district with their win over Anson.
