Grief Seminars Open to the Public

Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, will be the location of two special grief seminars for community members and professionals.

On Wednesday, October 16th, 7:00-9:00pm, will be, Understanding Your Grief: Touchstones for Hope and Healing, for the community.

On Thursday, October 17th, 9:00am – Noon, will be Helping Children and Teens Cope with Grief: A Companioning Philosophy of Caregivers, for caregivers. These seminars are free of charge and are made possible by Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

Dr. Alan Wolfelt, a psychologist, grief counselor of international reputation, and internationally published author will be the presenter of these programs. A past recipient of the Association for Death Education and Counseling’s Death Educator Award, Dr. Wolfelt is Director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition located in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is known throughout the U.S. and Canada for his educational contributions in the areas of both childhood and adult grief.
