It happened at 7:44 a.m. on FM 1812, less than one mile northeast of County Rd. 429. Reports state James Jackson, 44, was driving when his truck left the roadway to the right, he over-corrects and drove off the roadway to the left.
The truck continued up an embankment, overturned several times, and caught fire. Reports indicate he was driving 70 mph. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Municipal Judge Crawford.
No blood was taken due to the conditions. The officer at the scene believes alcohol was involved.
