The Abilene high eagles started the season as the 18th ranked team in the state according to Harris, but the eagles took a leap forward thanks to a 77 point performance in the 2nd game of the champions classic.

The eagles opened the 2011 season with a 64 point victory over El Paso hanks. Sixteen new starters took the field for the Head Coach Steve warren and it looked like were seasoned veterans.

The Eagles are up 7 places to 11th in this week's Harris ratings. The Eagles will play number 3 Euless Trinity. After Cooper dropped their opener to Wichita Falls last Friday they dropped out of the top 25.

Now on to 3-A where Bulldogs are still not in the Harris Ratings, Snyder and Brownwood are. Snyder fell 4 places after their 3 point loss to monahans. And Brownwood comes in at 19 this week.

3 big country teams are in the class 2A division one top 25. Breckenridge won easily in week zero and fell a spot. Merkel is 22nd this week, and Colorado City fell 11 spots to 24. In class 2A division 2, Cisco jumps 6 places.

Class a Division One. Three big country teams are in the top seven. Goldthwaite is 4th, district rivals Albany and Stamford are 6th and 7th.

Munday and Hamlin are both in the top 10 this week. Munday drops to number six, and Hamlin jumps 3 spots to 8th in the ratings.
