The Hawley Bearcats are right in the thick of the playoff race in Class 2A Division II.

Since losing their district opener to Cisco, the Bearcats are riding a 2-game winning streak after wins over Ballinger and Colorado City in District 4-2A.

This week, they face Coleman, and it's a big one. The winner clinches a playoff berth, and the loser is in a must win situation next week.

"It's very exciting, but it's no different than week one. We're still out here practicing like it's any other game," said Levi Irby.

"We went out and played really hard, and that gets the fans pumped up. Every amount of energy they bring to us it helps us out every little bit. It's a big game, I mean this is going to get us ready for the playoffs," said Anthony Sites.

"We've just got to execute. We've got to go out hard and we've got to play hard. We can't let down. We've got to keep fighting," said Irby.

The Bearcats and the Bluecats are 2-1 in district play entering this game. As far as common opponents, they both lost to 2nd ranked Cisco and both beat Ballinger.
