The Hawley Bearcats struggled, to say the least, in 2010, but they say those struggles are behind them this season.

Head coach Brad Schoonmaker is back with the same offense for the Bearcats, and he believes that will help get things turned around. He says, "We're focused alot better this year. We're at the point where this isnt all new, we've had this offense before. We're so far ahead this year from last year, in two-a-days, as far as offensive. Our playbook is nearly all in and its just repetitive of what we've done."

Winning teams also have great senior leadership, and the players say the seniors have taken control of the 2011 Bearcats. Jacob New said, "I think our group of seniors, we're leading pretty well. We need  to work hard and get it done I guess."

The Bearcats start the new season at home against DeLeon. DeLeon is picked to finish 2nd in District 7-A Div. I.
