Cecil Holland was convicted of slicing the throat of another man during an argument that broke out at a barbeque on the 2000 block of Butternut back in 2011

Holland was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Friday. The jury heard arguments Monday for the sentencing phase of the trial and spent several hours deliberating before sentencing Holland to 48 years.
