Home Depot: Ceiling Fan Installation

Home improvement expert, Joe Welsh, shows how installing a ceiling fan can be a breeze...
If you are looking for an easy way to beat the heat in your house, then Joe Welsh with Home Depot has the answer.

Installing a ceiling fan can be an inexpensive way to cool your home, all you need to do is follow Joe's easy steps.

Step 1: Turn off the power to the light's circuit breaker at the service panel.
Step 2: Take down the existing lighting fixture where you are installing the ceiling fan. Go to homedepot.com/ceilingfans for the accurate installation wiring tips.
Step 3: Cover each connection with a wire nut for safety.
Step 4: Assemble the fan and connect according to directions given. Leave nothing out so it will be safe and not wobble.
Step 5: If the fan is going to be installed outside make sure that is wet-rated.

Joe also brought a few examples of Home Depot's wide selection of ceiling fan accessories.
