As Scurry County, Snyder in particular, looks forward to the coming oil boom predicted in the area because of the Cline Shale Exploration. Snyder is already facing a housing shortage, while commercial property is harder and harder to come by.

Abel Deloera, a Realtor in Snyder and a city councilman, took us driving around his town to show us just what is in store in the next few months. He says there are even bigger plans in the years ahead and he's already seeing the growing pains.

There are a number of housing projects in the area all to accommodate incoming workers. Deloera says almost 50% of the work force here in Snyder drives into town and then drives out again after work.
A problem the town of Snyder and the county are trying to solve and a problem individuals are trying to find a way to get on board with. Deloera also says commercial property is a hot commodity in Snyder as well.
