ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s soccer team beat Concordia 3-0 on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex.
After playing three straight scoreless draws to open ASC play, the Cowboys scored two first half goals to take control.
Sophomore Colyn Moore scored his second goal of the season on an assist from Taylor Jackson at the 23:53 mark. Rowan Meyer then made it 2-0 off an assist from Ruben Dominguez at 37:43.
Meyer, a freshman, scored again in the 70th minute off a Sean Diamond assist to make it 3-0.
HSU dominated the pace of play and outshot Concordia 12-1 in the game and 9-0 on target.
Freshman goalkeeper Michael Vargas recorded his fourth straight shutout.
HSU is now 3-3-4 on the year and 1-0-3 in ASC action. The Cowboys are 8-0-5 in its last 13 games against ASC foes. Concordia fell to 1-6-1 overall and to 1-2 in league play.
The Cowboys remain home next weekend to play Mississippi College and Louisiana College.
