HSU's Addison Earns National Honor

ABILENE, Texas -- For the second straight week, Hardin-Simmons senior guard Matt Addison has been named to the D3hoops.com national team of the week.
 
The national online website that covers Division III basketball has named Addison as one of its top five players each of the last two weeks.
 
The award goes along with three straight American Southwest Conference player of the week honors.
 
The Killeen, Texas, native is averaging 30.1 points which is second in the nation. He also is in the top 10 nationally in assists (ninth at 6.4 per game) and steals (eighth at 3.4 per game). Teammate George Nelson ranks fifth in blocked shots per game and Derrick Jefferson is 15th in steals.
 
The Cowboys are off to their best start since the 1993-94 season as 7-0. HSU is ranked fifth nationally in assist-to-turnover margin (1.42), sixth in scoring margin (20.1) and eighth in turnover margin (9.3).
