HSU's Brunnemann and Uechi Claim All-Region Honors

MINNEAPOLIS - Hardin-Simmons senior closer Tyler Brunnemann and junior second baseman Marcus Uechi have been named to the D3baseball.com all-West region third team for their outstanding play in 2013. 
Brunnemann, a senior from Garden Ridge, went 1-1 with a school-record 10 saves. He struck out 62 batters and walked just three in 40 innings of work and allowed only five runs all season.
Uechi, a junior from San Antonio, had a stellar season at the plate as he led the Cowboys in almost every statistical category. He hit .331 with 37 runs scored, 52 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 29 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.   
HSU went 22-20 and went to the ASC Championship for the ninth straight season.
