A strong cold front surged through the Big Country Friday evening, right on schedule and immediately dropped temperatures by at least 20 degrees. Abilene Regional Airport picked up 2/10 of an inch of rain quickly between 5:30 and 6:15pm with heavier rain in other parts of town. The rain will continue following the front out of the area, skies should clear later tonight and temperatures will drop accordingly, into the upper 30's. Weekend weather looks wonderful, just cold each morning, mid 40's on Sunday morning. Afternoon highs near 64 Saturday and 74 Sunday. The next front will arrive Monday, keeping highs in the mid to upper 60's and only a slim chance of an isolated shower or two. Yet another front arrives next Thursday but no rain is indicated with it at this time. Enjoy your weekend !!
