Cold air was wasting no time in moving south Monday night ... Once it arrives in the Big Country after midnight, we will experience the coldest weather of Fall so far. Lows in the upper 30's are forecast to begin the day Tuesday, but due to strong north wind and cold air in place, highs only around 40 are forecast. Expect some very light rain Tuesday morning but by the afternoon a gradual decrease in cloud cover from north to south is expected. That will set us up for clear skies and lighter winds on Tuesday night which will allow temperatures to drop into the low to middle 20's. That is cold enough to kill plants and end the growing season. Wednesday will be a sunny day with highs around 52. Another front Thursday night into Friday won't be as strong but will aid in some showers chances for Saturday into Sunday.
