KRBC PM Forecast: Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Turning bitterly cold Thursday night, lingers through early next week ...
Thursday night, Arctic air invades the Big Country.  As the much colder air arrives during the overnight, and collides with some moisture, a brief line of thunderstorms is possible Thursday night into Friday morning.  After that, light rain showers behind the front in the very cold air.  For now, I'll continue to leave our precipitation as all rain in Abilene, however, west of a line from Knox City to Sweetwater  you may get some wintry mix Friday night into Saturday.  Those of you traveling to support your favorite football teams in the playoffs on Friday night, bundle up.  Three teams from the Big Country will be in the Lubbock area Friday night.  If you are going to Lubbock, expect below freezing temperatures, wind chills in the teens and a wintry mix .... not good traveling weather ... but amounts will likely be light.  Our best chance for rain comes on Friday with only intermittent hit and miss showers this weekend, then an upper level low moves over from the southwest Monday and rain chances return Monday.  High temperatures are as follow:  Wednesday 75, Thursday 77, Friday 38, Saturday 43, Sunday 45, Monday 48, Tuesday 50.
