Bitterly cold temperatures starting Wednesday night, lasting for a week.
Temperatures we normally expect to see in January or February will grip the western Big Country starting Wednesday night and lasting well into the middle of next week. By Thursday morning temperatures should be around the low to middle 30's in western counties but drop during the day Thursday into the 20's. Freezing rain and sleet expected to cause hazardous travel Thursday afternoon, Thursday night and Friday morning. Temperatures will remain well below freezing Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, getting as cold as 12 to 15 degrees Saturday morning. More light sleet or freezing rain could occur Saturday into Saturday night.
