KTAB Regional Forecast Western Big Country: AM December 5th, 2013

Slick Roads and Cold Temperatures
A strong area of low pressure will combine with a ton of cold air to make for a messy commute Friday morning. Today will be overcast with temperatures in the mid 20’s this afternoon and wind chills in the low teens. Winds will be gusting up to 25 or 30 miles per hour. Freezing drizzle is possible throughout today, but the main push of winter weather arrives Thursday evening and night. By late Friday morning the freezing rain will be east of us, but temperatures will still be plenty cold and well below freezing. If the rain freezes at the surface we could have several days of slippery roads. Lows Saturday morning will be in the low teens with wind chills in the single digits. We’ll see the sun again early next week, but temperatures will still be well below average.
