The Albany Lady Lions were able to chip away at a Windthorst lead and come away with a victory to advance to the regional finals.

The game probably didn't start out the way Albany would have planned. A three run shot off the left field scoreboard by Jayme Weathered would give Windthorst a 5-0 lead in the early innings.

Albany would respond with a shot to the shortstop by Kathryn Hamilton, and after an error Kelli Schkade would come home to cut the Trojanette lead to 5-1.

The game would eventually go to extra innings, and it would be the Lady Lions that emerged with a 8-7 victory.

Albany will take on Petrolia next week to decide one of four bids for the State Tournament.
