There have been a lot of changes in Brownwood over the past few months. That includes a new coach at the healm of the Lion football program, and this week marks the beginning of the Chuck Howard Era.

"Now it's fun, because you get to game plan and prepare for an opponent. Our kids are excited. We're tired of hitting on each other and ready to hit on someone else," said head coach Chuck Howard.

The players are also excited to get the season underway.

"I love coach Howard, and respect him a lot. I want to win for him, and for my teammates. We're just going to try our best for him," said quarterback Chris Keesee.

Standing in the Lions way this week will be a talented All Saints team that may be one of the best in the entire state.

"It's a challenge, just like it was last year. It's going to be, maybe, even a bigger challenge this year. They're really good, so it makes us better to have all these good teams in the preseason. So, overall I think it's a good thing," said Keesee.

"I think it helps us prepare for the season. All Saints is tremendously talented. In our second week we play Graham, and they're talented as well. So, it's going to be a challenge for us, and we're looking forward to the opportunity to play them," said Howard.

The Lions and Saints will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.
