Severe flooding in New York has grabbed the attention of a local woman.

Ann Irby, an Oneida, NY, native is doing what she can to help those in need by collecting donations of money and clothing to send to those unable to return to their homes.

She says the floods have forced her family and friends out of their homes, which is why she decided to help. But Irby says she wants to help those she doesn't know as well.

Advanced Auto Parts on S. 14th has agreed to collect donations as well, with an employee that also has ties to those effected by the flooding.

Irby says that no matter how much she collects, every little bit helps those she loves and those in need.

Donations can be dropped off at the S. 14th location.
