Locals Shave Head To Raise Money For Cancer Research

On Saturday morning, downtown Abilene restaurant Abi-Haus decided to serve more than their dishes, but their time and hair to make a difference.
On Saturday morning, downtown Abilene restaurant Abi-Haus decided to serve more than their dishes, but their time and hair to make a difference.

The restaurant partnered with the St. Baldrick's Foundation whose mission is to help conquer and further childhood cancer research. The head-shaving event invited people to sign up, raise a specific amount of money, and if brave enough, to completely shave their head.

Many people showed up, including a 10-year old boy name Collin Guthrie who raised $500 in a matter of one day.

"It's just hair," Guthrie said.
