The League of United Latin American Citizens, L.U.L.A.C., invited families and players from around the Lone Star state to participate in their 37th Annual Labor Day Softball Tournament Slugfest.
The annual event has become a popular fundraiser which helps raise money for the organization's mission to provide academic scholarships.
Each team participated by paying an entry fee. Eighty teams from all around the state gathered at Nelson Park for the three-day event.
According to president Jack Guzman, they raised $20,000 last year and is expected to reach the same amount this year.
