Man Arrested for Allegedly Punching An Officer in the Face Half-Naked

An Abilene man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly punched a peace officer in the face half-naked.
An Abilene man was arrested mid-Saturday night after he allegedly punched a peace officer in the face half-naked.

Jon Bailey, 30, is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Assault on Peace Officer, Class C Public Intoxication and an outstanding warrant. According to the arrest report, the officer received a call saying Bailey was walking down North 1st in the rain, while naked from the waist down.

The report further states that Bailey was intoxicated with glassy, bloodshot eyes, unsteady gait and the odor of alcohol in his breath. Bailey was intoxicated to the point of being a danger to himself and others, according to the officer.

During his arrest, Bailey allegedly punched the officer in the cheek and caused injury and pain.

As of Sunday, Bailey is in the Taylor County Jail with bonds worth over $10,000.
