According to multiple networks, multiple people have been killed in a shooting at the Washington Navy Yard in D.C. after a shooter opened fire into a cafeteria from an upper story.

Initial reports said that at least four people had been confirmed dead, and several injured, though newer reports are now confirming that 12 were killed in the shooting. That number may change as more information comes in.

CNN is reporting that a suspected shooter is dead, while the Chief of Police, Cathy Lanier, said they are searching for two other possible shooters.

NBC news has reported that the deceased suspected gunman has been identified as 34-year-old Aaron Alexis. Officials say Alexis is originally from Fort Worth and had recently begun working as a civilian contractor.
